Bombers have been all the rage and they aren’t going anywhere, but we’ve been
calling some of them wrong. These jackets have an entire heritage behind them that we (or at least I) didn’t know about.
The roots of the Souvenir Jacket, or Sukajan in Japanese, go back to American soldiers who were stationed in Japan at the end of the second World War. After the war
the American soldiers, stationed in Japan, began getting traditional Japanese designs hand-stitched onto the backs of their jackets to commemorate their time in Japan.
The designs included Japanese style dragons, tigers, cherry blossoms and trees, even Geisha girls were featured on the soldiers backs. Since then,
they’ve started to take on a life of their own.
What a beautiful history! I already just like the look of this jacket, but after a friend told me about the Sukajan, I started reading a bit about them and know I like mine even more!

I was born in Rotterdam, but I love this city more and more everyday! The harbor is so beautiful and the buildings are incredible. I really like discovering new things in my city. There is so much to do and so much to see, so I’d really recommend Rotterdam to anyone.
Back to the fashion part! I kind of really love this outfit. It’s going to be a favorite for Fall and Winter. I might have to add a pair of stockings as the weather cools down though. Burgundy red is such a beautiful color and I love the way it comes back every few years. Together with khaki green, are those my favorite colors to wear in the Fall time. Well,… nothing could ever replace black, but you get what I’m saying right?

Silver pants! Does it get any better? I’m in looooove! I know I say that a lot about clothing items, but come on… They are silver, ribbed, comfortable pants!
I usually don’t like culottes because they tend to look a bit weird, but I feel like these don’t. (And honestly if they do, I don’t care because they are AMAZING!)
Topshop has a lot of them right now in every color. I think the ribbed finish gives a special touch to the pants and it looks very chic and elegant.
I wore this outfit on a casual day out shopping and it was great. Wearing a white top is always good for shopping. It’s a nice basic to pair with pants or skirts or shorts that you want to try on.

I feel very angelic in this dress! I love the sleeves and the way they look. This off-the-shoulder/wing type of sleeve is everywhere right now and I really like the trend. It’s very feminine, but still not to exposing. I own multiple pieces with this type of sleeve, but this dress is definitely my favorite.
I wore this dress to an event that was partly outside so I didn’t want to wear heels. I think a white pair of sneakers goes with everything, even a nice dress. Plus… they are much more comfortable!

The color of creativity, Hermes ‘s signature color and the nationel color of Holland: Orange might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but wearing it always makes me feel good. I’m not going out looking like a prison inmate in full head to toe orange, but a subtle touch here and there, I really like. For exemple a nice orange scarf or a cute bag as a pop of color. I wear a lot of black so that colorful touch welcome.
You might have noticed I’m still looking a bit winter white… The sun has been out for a while, but I haven’t gotten that nice bronze glow. That’s because I’m alergic to the sun… I’ve made piece with being pale. If it wasn’t for Coco Chanel, my pale complection would be very desired, so thanks Miss Chanel… Just kidding I don’t mind being pale. I think it actually quite suits me.

I’ve been to a lot of beautiful cities that ware amazing, but Rotterdam is still my one great love. I was born there and I’m moving back in a few months so I took my boyfriend to introduce him to the city.
We did so much walking so I wore a pair of my favorite comfy sneakers. It was also an extremely hot day and my new purchase from the day before came in handy. These pinky/nude shorts are great. Zara knows how to make a GOOD pair of shorts! I think I have about 5 different pairs of them and they can be dress up or down. Perfect for every girl.
And yes… again… those are pineapples on my shirt. Surprise… these are SILVER!

I’m officially addicted to stripes… I have so many stripped t-shirts that I’m actually a bit embarrassing. I can’t get enough of them. I own so many different variations… Pink and white, black and white, green and white, grey and black,… but this is my favorite one. It channels my inner ‘parisienne’, which I loooove. A navy/white stripped t-shirt is a basic, timeless piece and a great investment.
Even better to stock up on stripes right now, since they are very ‘trendy’ for the upcoming season. Especially big bold stripes are everywhere, but I like to stick to my classics.
I think pairing it up with a leather jacket and pointed heels gives it an edgy and modern twist. As for my braids… I was just in the mood for a bit of a quirky hairstyle.
